I Tried Making an ASMR Video

I occasionally like to experiment with things the popular kids are doing on the internet, because some of them make it seem so easy. While I was in Florida, I decided I wanted to make an ASMR Video. If you don’t know, ASMR stands for autonomous sensory meridian response, which is a really long way of saying, “This ish makes me feel some kind of way”, usually accompanied by a tingling sensation. As with all things that trigger responses, there doesn’t seem to be one specific thing that triggers this response person to person. All the videos seem to feature people talking in a loud whisper that emphasizes certain letter sounds, and then a compilation of similar quiet-ish sounds that one might find comforting.

I haven’t listened to enough videos to know what might trigger this response in me, or even what the common sounds are. I’ve only watched ASMR roundup videos, and those seem to be easily as subjective as what triggers ASMR in you. And, maybe there’s nothing that triggers it in you. I can confidently say that I haven’t found my thing yet, as far as videos or podcasts are concerned, so in this video I just went with a sound that I find incredibly relaxing.

This video features a series of different sounds of water running, and I used a garden tub to amplify the sounds. So, we get the sound of a bathtub filling, and I swished the water around with a cup to add more pouring sounds.
